【仕事】♪真っ赤なお鼻のトナカイさん♪の歌から学ぶ：理想の上司とは？
| 大人になってあらためて聞くと、泣けてくるほど深い歌に気づきました。
サンタクロースを理想の上司という目でみると、気づくことがあると思います。 |
（まずは、♪真っ赤なお鼻のトナカイさん♪の歌の内容から・・・）
Rudolph, the reindeer had a shiny, red nose, it was bullied by the other reindeers. So, it began to gradually lose its confidence and just continued working, pulling a sled even though it felt very sad.
ルドルフと言うトナカイにはピカピカ光る赤い鼻があったので、他のトナカイから苛められていました。そのせいでだんだんと自信を失い、ただただ働きました。とても悲しくてもソリを引き、働きました。
One day, Santa Claus and his reindeers were at a loss in the darkness on their way to deliver some presents to children from all over the world. They didn’t know where to go.
ある日、サンタクロースとトナカイが世界中の子供たちにプレゼントを届ける途中、真っ暗闇で途方にくれてしまいました。どこに行けばいいのかどっちの方向なのか、分かりませんでした。
But, Rudolph’s red nose was shining, so it could guide the path!
しかし、ルドルフの真っ赤な鼻がピカピカ光っていたので、道を歩むことができたのです！
Then, Santa said to Rudolph, “Your nose is really different from the others, but that’s what makes you special. Thanks to your shiny nose which lit up the dark sky, our delivery was a success. It helped a lot!”
サンタクロースはルドルフに「お前の鼻は実に他のトナカイと違っているんだが、それがいいんだよ！お前は特別なんだ。暗闇でも光るお前の鼻のおかげで、配達ができたんだ。とても役に立ったんだよ！」と言いました。
That night, the other reindeers realized the impact of Rudolph’s shiny red nose. They all cheered
“Rudolph, you! You are really great!” and they began to respect Rudolph and his shiny red nose.
その夜、その赤い鼻がとても印象的だったので、他のトナカイも「よお！お前って本当に凄いな！」と言いました。そしてみんな尊敬し始めました。
At first, the red-nosed reindeer hated it’s own red nose. Rudolph had always had a huge inferiority complex about it. After the delivery that was only successful due to it’s shiny red nose. Rudolph realized that it was in fact a blessing to have such a unique nose. So, Rudolph began to appreciate its own nose. As a result, Rudolph began to work happily and filled with confidence.
最初は、ルドルフも自分の真っ赤な鼻が嫌いで、コンプレックスを持っていましたが、その鼻が役に立ったのです！それで、自分の鼻を誇りに思うようになりました。ついに、自信を持って、楽しく働き始めたのです。

I think, this can be applied to us, humans. We might have some personalities or behaviors which are teased by people. But these personalities or behaviors might come in handy, providing help in unimaginable ways.
私は、この話は人間にも当てはまると思います。ひょっとしたら私たちには他人から苛められたり、からかわれるような性格や振る舞いがあるかもしれません。でも、思いもよらない方法で役に立つこと、助けになることがあるかもしれないのです。
Everyone is different. We shouldn’t laugh at others because of their uniqueness. It is what sets us apart from the rest.
私たちはみな、それぞれ違いますよね。自分とは違うからといって他人を笑ってはいけないのです。それが他人と違う特徴なのです。
That’s why, we need not feel inferior to anybody else or have a complex about the features or traits we have.
だから、私たちも劣等感を持つ必要は無いんです。
In addition. I think, Santa Claus is a fantastic boss. Because, he understood what happened among the reindeers, and he changed the red-nosed reindeer inferiority into superiority to the point of solving the bullying problem.
それに、サンタクロースは素晴らしい上司だと思います。というのは、彼はトナカイ同士の中で起こっていることを理解し、真っ赤な鼻のトナカイの劣等感を優越感に変えたのです。
Santa helped all of the reindeers become better. He encouraged Rudolph to be confident about his nose and he taught the other reindeers they should accept everybody’s differences. He is worth emulating. I think every boss in human society should be like that.
更に、サンタクロースはルドルフだけではなく、その他のトナカイまで教育しましたね。ルドフルは自信を持つように、その他のトナカイは、みんなそれぞれ違うんだと、自分と他人の違いを受け入れることです。そんなサンタクロースは手本になるのに相応しい上司です。人間社会においても、上司というのは皆、彼のようにあって欲しいですね。
