I know some people want to cut ties with their partners, but fail to do so for some reasons.

One is that she’s probably being gaslighted by the guy, or having a bad break-up, resulting to the guy stalking the girl, which of course causes annoyance.

Another reason is if you are too depressed, and your heart is too broken to make even a single move. It might feel like you have been burned out and drained of all the energy to cut ties with him.

I totally understand that cutting ties don’t always go smoothly. Sometimes, it takes a long time to be resolved, and might cause you inconvenience. So, in order to prevent going through this dreadful situation, we should act pre-emptively, and learn to stop it form happening before it actually happens.

Pondering on this topic, it reminded me of a rotten apple. Figuratively, there is a saying that goes like, “One bad apple in a pack will ruin all the other apples.” Similarly in Japan, “bad apples” are comparable to “rotten mandarin oranges”.

Going back to my point, in relation to this saying, literally, in dire situations like extreme hunger and no available food to eat, we might be forced to eat even rotten apples to fill in our empty stomachs.

Later, we might realize that toxins have already accumulated in our body due to ingestion of rotten food.

If we take actions immediately, for example, take medication or vomit the poison, we might recover from it eventually.

This is the same thing as the theory. If a rotten apple, mixed in a pack is removed immediately, the other apples may be salvaged.

Now, in connection to our lives, whenever we feel very lonely or have someone whom we strongly desire to go out with, in our desperation, we might even choose someone whom we know is not a good person for us, and will eventually bring unhappiness and hurt in our lives.

In the beginning, we might have been blinded by our ideals and illusions, but later on, we’ll come to realize that we shouldn’t have gone out with the person in the first place.

If we had realized it earlier, just like a rotten apple, it might have been easy to sever ties with the person and salvage ourselves from a downward path.

However, if we are already immersed with the person, the same way that the rotten apple has already spread in the pack of apples, it will take ages to cut off ties with them, and it might be hard to restore yourself to your blemish-free version.

So, whenever we are very hungry, we shouldn’t make any decisions or choose.
