(Destiny for marriage)

In Japan, women generally believe that destiny leads us to the right person at the end of the day.

A Psychologist once said: “Real romance is how we can love our partners, not how we can be loved by them.” I definitely agree with this.

There are two important points as keys to a lasting relationship.

First, it is important to show our affection regardless of the means.

People show affection in different ways. We have different love languages. Some people communicate to their partners constantly, write love letters or offer something. As for me, I show my affection by touch. I tend to be tactile and hold my partner’s hand.

It totally depends on the person. But regardless of what love language is used, the important thing is to show it.

Secondly, it is equally important to spend our precious time wisely.

Our time is very limited, and how we spend it may influence our chances of building a lasting relationship.

In addition, I like the word which RuPaul Charles, a drag queen said: “If you can’t love yourself how in the hell, can you love somebody else.”

I also agree with him. I have a theory about romantic relationships. When I go out with someone, but end up not liking myself in the process, I tend to break up with the person soon.

On the contrary, when I like how I become when I’m around him, when he inspires me to be a better version of myself, our relationship tends to grow stronger and last long.

The bottom line is, when the relationship leads you to self-loathing, it means that you’re pushing yourself too hard, and end up getting disappointed.

Needles to say, it is important that we remain to be our usual selves in front of our partners, and no need for pretentions. These points are the key to keeping a lasting relationship, and finding Mr. Right along the way.

~“agree with”, “agree on”, “agree to”の違い~

“agree with”は、「人」か「人が行う何か(※意見とか)」に同意する時に使います。

“agree on”は、トピックなどに同意する時に使います。

“agree to”は、動作や行動、結論などに同意する時に使います。だいたい行動が伴います。

◆Agree with + 人・物(事)

例) Agree with my mother.(私の母に同意する)

I don’t agree on hiring this person. I don’t trust her.

◆Agree to + 行動・結論(an action or conclusion)

She agreed to a higher tax rate.

I agreed to clean the house.(家の清掃に同意した)
